COVID-19 AND ITS IMPACT ON LABOUR RELATED & OTHER MATTERS
This article focuses on workplace preparedness for Covid-19 for those employers who are permitted to re-open their workplaces. It also deals with the practicalities of working from home and factors to consider in relation to duties, hours of work and pay as well as options available to employers where employees cannot tender their services or can only tender their services partially. In addition, it deals with options for employers who need financial assistance to survive and whether retrenchment is possible. Finally, we discuss supervening impossibility of performance and distinguish it from vis major.
